How to effectively evaluate mobility measures in your city?

The CIVITAS Initiative organised a 3-hour training event on evaluation and monitoring of mobility measures in Florence on the 7th of May. Keynote speakers were Eric Schreffler (ESTC, San Diego, USA) and Anders Wrestrand (Lund University, Sweden).

Two hands-on presentations and three interactive exercises guided partcipants through the do’s and don’ts of long-term evaluation of mobility measures in cities. Participants received concrete hand outs with key insights and a copy of the guidance document on long-term evaluation that has been prepared by Lund University within the CIVITAS CAPITAL project.

Eric Schreffler is a transportation consultant at ESTC, San Diego. He focuses on quantifying the impacts of transportation demand management strategies on traffic congestion, energy consumption and air quality. Eric was involved in the MOST-project for the development of an evaluation toolkit.

Anders Wretstrand is senior lecturer and director of studies at Lund University. He is researching in the field of traffic planning, public transport and perceived safety and transport. He is currently working on the CIVITAS DYN@MO project on sustainable urban mobility planning, on the WP evaluation management.
