CIVITAS Awards 2022

This year marks the 19th anniversary of the CIVITAS Awards. These awards provide a platform for towns and cities to demonstrate excellence in sustainable mobility and transport, both in terms of policy-making and implemented measures, whilst having their efforts recognised by the European Commission.

With the theme, "Moving people and goods more sustainably", the Urban Mobility Days 2022 will play host to this year's CIVITAS Awards. This leading mobility event is to be hosted by the European Commission, Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE), and the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU. It is to be held from 20-22 September in Brno, Czech Republic. It is taking place during the EU's European Mobility Week.

Two awards are to be given out:

  • CIVITAS Young Champion Award, which rewards a young person actively engaged in activities related to and supportive of sustainable urban mobility
  • CIVITAS Transformation Award, which rewards the use of an integrate set of mobility measures to make a city a smarter and more liveable place for all. Only those cities and municipalities that have signed the CIVITAS City Declaration are applicable

The application period has already close for the CIVITAS Awards 2022.

The winners will be revealed on 20 September at the CIVITAS Awards Ceremony, on the first day of the Urban Mobility Days. Register to attend the event, either online or in-person here, in order to discover the winners of this year's Awards!
