Heraklion (Greece)

Heraklion is the administrative capital of Crete, one of the Mediterranean region's most vibrant cities, and the largest urban centre on the island with approximately 175,000 people. Heraklion is an important shipping port and ferry dock. There are various ferries and boats from Heraklion that connect the city with several destinations including Santorini, Ios Isand, Paros, Mykonos, and Rhodes. Moreover, there are a number of buses serving the city and connecting it to many major destinations in Crete.
