Warsaw (Poland)

Warsaw, Poland's capital, is actively advancing sustainable urban mobility. The city's topography, characterized by the Vistula River and varied elevations, influences transport planning, necessitating efficient river crossings and integration of diverse transport modes.

Managed by the Public Transport Authority (ZTM), Warsaw's public transport network includes buses, trams, two metro lines, and the Szybka Kolej Miejska (SKM) commuter rail, facilitating seamless connectivity within the city and its suburbs. The metro system, with recent expansions, aims to enhance accessibility across the city.

In line with the European Commission's Smart and Sustainable Mobility Strategy, Warsaw is transitioning towards zero-emission transport. The city has been investing in electric buses and other sustainable transport options to reduce urban pollution.
