Reykjavik (Iceland)

Reykjavík, Iceland's capital and largest city, is dedicated to sustainable urban mobility. The city prioritizes pedestrians, cyclists, and public transportation to reduce air pollution and enhance quality of life. The Green Steps action plan promotes eco-friendly transportation by providing bike racks, changing facilities, and access to electric vehicles for work-related travel. Reykjavík's Master Plan 2040 aims to create a compact, green city by reducing carbon emissions, improving energy efficiency, and enhancing infrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists. The Borgarlína Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system is designed to provide high-quality public transit with buses running on clean, domestic fuels, integrating cycling facilities at stations to promote sustainable mobility.
