Kruševac (Serbia)

Kruševac, located in central Serbia, has demonstrated a strong commitment to sustainable urban mobility. In 2017, it became the first city in Serbia to develop its own Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP), aiming to make traffic accessible to all, regardless of age, gender, income, or physical ability.

The city's vision aligns with the Agenda 2030 target of achieving an "80:20" modal split, where 80% of trips are made by walking, cycling, or public transport. This initiative has significantly improved safety, accessibility, and the quality of local public transport, while reducing reliance on private vehicles. Kruševac's efforts have been internationally recognized; in 2019, it won the European Mobility Week Award for larger municipalities, highlighting its dedication to sustainable mobility practices.
