Larnaka, located on Cyprus's southern coast, it is the island's third-largest city. Its coastal geography and flat terrain facilitate urban development and mobility planning. The city hosts Cyprus's primary international airport and its second-largest commercial port, making it a pivotal transport hub. 

Larnaka has been actively pursuing sustainable mobility initiatives. The municipality has participated in many initiatives aiming to enhance sustainable tourism and mobility. Efforts include promoting cycling infrastructure, improving public transport, and implementing pedestrian-friendly zones. The city's involvement in the Intercultural Cities Programme also emphasizes inclusive urban planning, integrating diverse communities into mobility solutions
