Transport Demand Management: join the webinar... and the thematic group!

CIVITAS Initiative

On 25 March, between 14.00 and 16.00 o'clock, CIVITAS VANGUARD, CIVITAS CAPITAL and the CIVITAS thematic group ‘Transport Demand Management’ present their first WEBINAR: “Access restricted” – understanding Transport Demand Management. This webinar is also the kick-off of the thematic group activities.

During this webinar measures will be presented that reduce traffic through a variety of economic incentives, regulatory measures and modern communication technologies. Pricing strategies can work as powerful incentives to get people to try cleaner ways of transport and make the private car a less appealing choice.
The programme offers an interesting overview of what Transport Demand Management has to offer: The POINTER project will present the outcomes of the evaluation of all transport demand management activities carried out by 26 CIVITAS cities between 2008 and 2012. The City of Gothenburg is the second Swedish city to introduce road user charging. The city of Bologna has made – thanks to CIVITAS – impressive progress is parking management and access restrictions.
In the programme below you will find a short description of all presentations and speakers. At the end of the webinar there is an opportunity for questions and discussions.
