The CIVITAS Initiative is proud to present its Annual Update Video 2025, offering a look back at the key milestones and achievements that shaped a transformative year for sustainable urban mobility.

From the creation of new national networks and recognition of award-winning CIVITAS Cities to bold commitments to cycling and knowledge exchange, 2024 marked a milestone year for the CIVITAS Community.

In the video, CIVITAS Coordinator Andreas Piller walks us through some of the standout moments, including:

  • The newly formed CIVINET Ukraine, led by Dzvenyslava Tyslyukevych from the Lviv City Institute. Despite the ongoing challenges faced by Ukrainian cities, CIVINET Ukraine is working to build resilient, inclusive mobility systems across the country.

  • CIVITAS City, Bologna’s win of the 2024 European Mobility Week Award. A long-time CIVITAS city and partner in projects such as REALLOCATE and SPINE, Bologna continues to lead the way with its commitment to accessible, low-emission transport solutions.

  • Parma’s formal endorsement and commitment to the European Declaration on Cycling during the CIVITAS Forum 2024. As the first CIVITAS City to formally commit to this EU-wide policy initiative, Parma is setting a precedent for inter-institutional cooperation to promote cycling across Europe.

The video also spotlights CIVITAS’ growing capacity-building and peer-learning initiatives. The Politicians Exchange Forum (PEF) is actively facilitating dialogue among city leaders, while the Replication & Deployment programme has entered its second cycle, helping to scale and transfer sustainable mobility solutions.
