SPINE took center stage at Antwerpen Shift, held in conjunction with European Car-Free Day, reinforcing Antwerp’s commitment to sustainable urban transport.

A key attraction at the event was the Smart Ways to Antwerp stand, which featured the SPINE pop-up exhibition. The exhibit showcased innovative mobility solutions, including the Smart Ways to Antwerp route planner wich provides personalized multimodal route recommendations. This tool also integrates cycling, walking, shared mobility, real-time updates and low-emission zones.

A standout moment came when a visitor using a wheelchair praised the new accessibility map, highligting the city’s commitment to inclusivity—one of SPINE’s core values. Addressing concerns about pedestrian representation, the SPINE team highlighted the route planner’s pedestrian-friendly features, opening up important dialogue on walkability and accessiblity.

The SPINE pop-up exhibition perfectly aligned with Antwerpen Shift and European Mobility Week, promoting active transport, public transit and multimodal solutions. By presenting a clear vision for sustainable urban mobility, SPINE reaffirmed its role in shaping Antwerp’s journey toward a greener more accessible city.
