Porto opens Mobility shop and launches accompanying website

CIVITAS Initiative

The city of Porto opened its new Mobility shop on 21 September. The shop is open from Monday to Friday, from 9.00 to 18.00 and will develop the typical on-store mobility management tasks like multi modal transport information, advisement and ticketing.

The main idea is to influence travel behaviour by providing mobility information towards people (campaigns, expositions, brochures, special activities, web site management, special events) and at the same time get feedback and work as a constant observer of the mobility issues within the area (mobility and satisfaction, surveys, suggestion centre and other actions). The Mobility Shop will sustain innovative services by providing logistical support to them. The related measure predicts the implementation of a DRT bus service, car-pooling scheme and bike rental that will use the Mobility Shop as their reference for the users of these services. The shop is also the CIVITAS ELAN headquarters in Porto and will contribute to increasing the project’s public visibility through the dissemination of project/measure facts and achieved results. In addition to the opening of the shop, a new website was launched to support the innovative mobility services mentioned above. The Mobility Shop website supplies different kinds of services to give users more information about the options available for better use of the varied means of transportation.Visit the website at www.lojadamobilidade.com
