Music & parties to engage youngsters on mobility

Brescia launched an entertainment programme for the young generation during European Mobility Week to sensitise them on the importance of sustainable mobility.

The city of Brescia traditionally joins the European Mobility Week, but for 2011 it decided to renovate its program and organise initiatives which could engage the younger generations by speaking about sustainable mobility whilst having fun. From 16-24 September Brescia was animated by events, meetings and shows aimed at spreading the concept of sustainable mobility also through informative stands in strategic areas of the city and public gatherings. The highlights of the week were undoubtedly the evening programmes held in several popular places in the city: at Borgo Whurer - a neighbourhood where young people hang-out in bars - on the 16th there was "Mobility Young"; the following day in the main square in front of the City Hall - Piazza Loggia - there was  "Mobility Day" having as guest star a famous  national comedian; and the entertainment topped on Saturday September 24, at Piazzale Arnaldo with the “Mobility Happy Hour”, an initiative with entertainment, shows and live music. The events proved to be an excellent occasion where to present the new public transport and mobility services for students at the start of the new academic year, which include: discounted subscription agreements, new dedicated parking spaces, Bicimia and car sharing services. Next year join us in Brescia during the European Mobility Week... it's gonna be fun!
