Mobility ecoticket gives greater sustainable modal flexibility in Bologna
Private companies signed up to the home-work mobility management plan approved by Bologna municipality, can now offer their employees the Mobility Ecoticket, a new discounted public transport ticket. The ticket is tailor-made for occasional users of public transport, such as regular cyclists who use public transport on rainy days.
The Mobility EcoTicket, works as a single daily ticket, allowing passengers to travel on the entire Bologna bus network up to midnight. A single booklet contains 15 Mobility EcoTickets to be used within four months. Compared to the ordinary ecoticket, the Mobility EcoTicket offers several benefits in terms of flexibility and price. Firstly, it is available to be uploaded on the rechargeable Mi Muovo (MM) contactless personal card MM card, costing an initial fee of €5 that can be credited for up to 5 years. It also avails of the 8.5% discount applied to all public transport season tickets included in the MM agreement. Finally, private companies are expected to finance a further 10% (minimum amount) of the Mobility EcoTicket purchase price on behalf of their employees.
