On June 11, the Olivia Centre in Gdańsk came alive with energy and ideas as the MOBILITIES FOR EU project hosted its Open Day event. Held during the project’s 4th General Assembly and within the framework of the Urban Mobility Lab, the event brought together partners from across Europe—not just to discuss mobility, but to connect directly with those most affected by it: citizens.
More than 20 visitors were immersed in the world of future urban mobility during the event. Participants had the chance to meet the teams working across six key areas:
- Innovative Solutions for Mobility
- Sustainable Mobility
- Digital Solutions
- Pilots Implementation and Planning
- Replication in Other Cities
- Working Together with Municipalities, Citizens & Stakeholders
This format allowed attendees to explore the different project activities—ranging from digital and technical pilot implementations to innovations in sustainable transport and local collaboration.
An interactive touchable screen welcomed visitors at the entrance, introducing them to the cities involved in the project. Guests could explore each city’s unique mobility challenges, goals, and the solutions currently being tested—at their own pace.
Another highlight of the day was the E-City game, an educational tool developed in partnership between TU Dresden and We Right Click, both project partners. The game introduced participants to concepts like energy districts and bidirectional charging in an engaging way, sparking conversations about how small actions can contribute to more sustainable urban living.
Co-organised by the City of Gdańsk and We Right Click, the event also served as a space for dialogue with local citizens about Gdańsk’s mobility challenges and potential solutions. Valuable feedback was gathered on current and future initiatives.
