Madrid's municipal fleet receives 70 new electric vehicles courtesy of ECCENTRIC
Thanks to CIVITAS ECCENTRIC, Madrid city council will next year be introducing 70 new electric vehicles into its municipal fleet. They will be spread between two different departments.
The Economy and Finance Department will receive 22 passenger cars and four vans. The vehicles will be used for general travel and municipal business.
Appropriately, the Environment and Mobility Department will be taking the majority of the incoming additions, with 44 vehicles coming its way. They will be used to carry out services related to waste and environmental inspection, and are expected to be used from January. They are expected to enter the fleet in January.
When purchasing electric vehicles, it is important to ensure that the infrastructure required to operate them is in place. For this reason, the municipal departments taking the vehicles will have electric charging points installed, with 34 buildings in total receiving the systems.
By incorporating electric vehicles into their fleets, the Madrid-based businesses and its local authorities are playing a leading role in promoting their use of electric vehicles and encouraging the development of accompanying infrastructure.
