CIVITAS Initiative

A news call for city study tour has been was launched by CIVITAS.

The CIVITAS Secretariat hereby invites Expressions of Interest from European and non-European cities interested in hosting a CIVITAS city study tour during 2014.

General information about the study tours

Cities representatives as well as technical staff and local decision makers from CIVITAS cities shared a high interest in innovative ways of learning from each other and transferring knowledge. Study tours also offer the possibility to site visitors to interact with key local stakeholders and see how projects are implemented in reality. During the study tour, participants are able to learn from the host city by means of short presentations, site visits, debate and peer-review exercise. Study tours are also offer significant visibility to the host city to demonstrate and share success and achievements in the field of clean and sustainable.
The study tours are held in English. Group sizes range from 5 people to a maximum of 20. A study tour usually lasts one day or two days. The appropriate size and duration should be agreed with the host city.   The participants/visitors will pay their own travel expenses and accommodation, while the host city may offer to cover some costs of the visit such as local transport, meals and/or refreshments.
