CIVITAS Initiative

The latest issue of MOVE, the quarterly newsletter of the CIVITAS Initiative, is out and offers an essential reading for anyone with an interest in sustainable urban mobility!

The twelfth edition of MOVE is available for download here (PDF, 771Kb). in this issue, read about effective strategies to involve citizens in the planning process, and also about the best news from CIVITAS cities. In Utrecht, the Netherlands, the pass Utrecht accessible is more than a public transport card: it entitles holders to discounts for theatres and museums. Zagreb, Croatia, has set an example to be followed at national level with its electronic ticketing system, while Brno, Czech Republic, has improved bus services for the disabled. Craiova, Romania, and Aalborg, Denmark, have seen improvements in the air quality thanks to use of biofuels in their public transport fleet. In the Polish city of Gdansk, citizens help the municipality to combact vandalism in public transport shelters, and in Iasi, Romania, they showed satisfaction towards the city mobility schemes developed under CIVITAS. This issue’s city in profile is Usti nad Labem, Czech Republic.  And there is more!
