Gdansk City Council hosts Poland’s first mobility conference

CIVITAS Initiative

On September 30th and October 1st, Gdansk City Council hosted Poland’s first Mobility Conference giving the CIVITAS MIMOSA team the chance to present their work to more than 100 mobility professionals from all over Poland and many other European countries.

On the first day the conference was opened by the Mayor of Gdansk. There were also speeches from the European Cyclists Federation president, Manfred Neun, the Danish Ambassador, Thomas Østrup Møller and many others. The second day, entitled “From Vision to Action” saw CIVITAS MIMOSA take centre stage on the big screen with a speech from our Local Dissemination Manager, Krzysztof Perycz-Szczepanski. Other inspiring presentations came from the Polish Minister for Sport and Tourism, Adam Giersz, German Institute of Urban Studies representative, Jörg Thiemann-Linden and Alex Sully from Transport Initiatives (UK). Judging by the quality of speakers and attendees, it was hoped that the knowledge gained from the various talks, most notably the CIVITAS initiative will spread far and produce the desired results.
