Funchal supports launch of electric car

CIVITAS Initiative

On 25 February, the Municipality of Funchal took part in the launch of Little 4, a Portuguese electric vehicle participated in a rally event as a safety car. The regional launch was co-hosted by both the manufacturer and the CIVITAS MIMOSAJose Augusto Vieira Municipality team.

The “Little 4 has a maximum speed of 50 Kph and a range of 100km, costing about 80 cents of domestic electricity per 100 km. The versions available in today's market range from two to four seats, with prices starting from 12,500 Euros. Aside from the engine, which is imported from France, the car components are mainly Portuguese (65% of the car components are Made in Portugal).Despite the irregular topography that characterises the island of Madeira, the car has no problems dealing with hills, as proven by the tests that were made. During the event, interested parties had the opportunity to test this vehicle and familiarise themselves with the benefits of electrical technology. The CIVITAS MIMOSA team took advantage of this initiative to raise awareness by distributing leaflets, thus, addressing the importance of mobility and the advantages in using such new mobility technologies.
