Free ecodriving course in Gent
The Cambio car sharing company is organising a free ecodriving course in Gent, within the framework of CIVITAS and the Momo project. During this course participants are taught a more efficient driving style.
The course not only has a theory section but also practical instruction. The instructor takes a look at how each person's driving behaviour can be optimised. Because the more environmentally friendly you drive, the less fuel is consumed and the chances of having an accident are decreased.The course takes place in small groups. After the theoretical introduction, you leave in groups of three to try it out. Through this test, Cambio would like to find out the effect of such ecodriving courses and to what extent the effect would be lasting. After the courses a measuring device will be installed in the Cambio cars to monitor the driving behaviour. Cambio hopes that the courses will have a measurable effect on the car consumption.There is also an extra challenge for those interested: you can participate in the course and thereby give permission to get your own driving behaviour measured, and as a result also the effect of the course. If it turns out that you are the most economical and environmentally friendly driver from all the course's participants, you receive a 10% discount on the kilometer costs during 12 months.The course is totally free of charge, but the number of available places is limited. Cambio hopes that the participants will remember the tips in order to be able to drive safer, more economical and more environmentally friendly in the future.
