GREEN LOGISTICS IN DONOSTIA-SAN SEBASTIAN: DECARBONISING DELIVERIES IN URBAN AREAS

Freight distribution is an increasingly important part of modern city-life. Most of our city centres are highly crossed by freight delivery vehicles and they often cause severe congestion principally due to several stops along the way.

Donostia-San Sebastian re-thinked Urban Freight Logistics introducing on one hand some restrictive measures for a more efficient freight distribution and on the other hand new “green“ vehicles more suitable for the historical city centre.

The CIVITAS Thematic Group Urban Freight Logistics organizes a Study Tour and a Peer Review Workshop with the main aim to provide to city planners and politicians an overview of a success story on how to develop more sustainable and cost-effective last-mile green delivery

On Wednesday 14th and Thursday 15thOctober 2015 the members of the CIVITAS Thematic Group together with the colleagues attending the European Cycle Logistics Conference 2015 will learn from the Donostia-San Sebastian experience.
