The CIVITAS Initiative is officially inviting European cities to apply to host the next edition of the CIVITAS Forum Conference, the main event of the CIVITAS Initiative and one of Europe’s leading conferences on sustainable mobility.

Why host the CIVITAS Forum?

For each edition, the Forum has brought together hundreds of city and industry representatives, decision makers, experts in urban mobility, and academics to explore innovative mobility solutions and advance Europe’s urban mobility goals.

Hosting the Forum is a unique opportunity to put your city on the European mobility map, offering visibility, influence and the chance to demonstrate your local achievements in front of an international audience (recent editions welcomed up to approximately 500 delegates).

The 2026 Forum will take place fully in-person and focus on helping cities meet the EU’s Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy goals, while contributing to broader climate and transport targets under the European Green Deal and EU Mission for Climate-Neutral Cities.

Who can apply?

Interested cities must be part of the CIVITAS Network, with a proven commitment to sustainable urban mobility. Candidate cities must have the capacity to host a large-scale, international conference. Applications are particularly encouraged from cities that have not previously hosted the Forum to help ensure geographical diversity.

The deadline to apply is 5 September 2025.

Details, eligibility, and the full application package are available here.
