Breda University of Applied Sciences goes to Rotterdam for Urban Future conference

Mobility Powered by YouthMUSE

BUAS at Urban Future

This year's edition of the Urban Future Conference took place from 5 to 7 June in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Hosted in a different city each year, thousands of CityChangers from all over the world come together to share how they create transformation and what challenges they encounter on the way, thereby accelerating change and successfully shaping the future of cities.

Lecturers and students from the Academy for Built Environment and Logistics of Breda University of Applied Sciences, a project partner of CIVITAS MUSE (Coordination and Support Action of the CIVITAS Initiative) made their way to this year's conference. The students further supported the conference as part of the Young Leaders Programme, which offers opportunities for young people to join as volunteers.

The programme of the conference featured:

  • 60 inspiring sessions on various topics, such as climate adaptation, building sustainable cities, and the social aspects of change;
  • 35 field trips in Rotterdam;
  • 20 captivating side events.

Similarly, the CIVITAS Forum 2024 also recognises the importance of youth and offered an opportunity for young people to get involved through CIVITAS' Mobility Powered by Youth programme.
