On 15 September 2021, CIVITAS organised its first Regional City Exchange Workshop. It was hosted by the city of Aachen, the host of the upcoming CIVITAS Forum 2021.

Aachen was part of DYN@MO, a project that completed in 2016, which gave the city an enormous boost towards the implementation of measures in the field of sustainable mobility. Their three main topics of focus included: sustainable urban mobility planning (SUMP), mobility as a service (MaaS) and clean vehicles. Their experience implementing these measures, as well as their plans for the future, were presented during the workshop. The key challenges faced by the city, as well as some possible solutions, were discussed.

Gdynia, another DYN@MO project city, complemented the Aachen's presentation with experiences of its own.

An E-booklet will be published as an outcome of the workshop, in order to showcase Aachen's success stories. This E-booklet will be presented during the CIVITAS Forum 2021 and can also be found here, on the CIVITAS website.

Two more regional city exchange workshops will be organised. Details to follow.
