OUTTA CLIMATE FESTIVAL 2024 - Video Recap
This is the recap video of the two-day OUTTA CLIMATE FESTIVAL in the Municipality of Heraklion, Attica! Through the power of art, music, and community engagement, we conveyed impactful messages on climate action and road safety.
- Asphalt Art Intervention: Over 350 students participated in a creative asphalt art project, designing a striking piece outside the 1st High School of Heraklion to promote road safety. Led by internationally acclaimed artist b., the students transformed Pefkon Street into an engaging artwork, encouraging drivers to slow down and raising awareness about pedestrian and cyclist safety.
- Music and Dance Festival: Day two brought the festival to the “Elektra Apostolou” Cultural Center for an unforgettable music and dance experience. Highlights included a contemporary dance performance by Belles Epoches set to the music of Charles Mingus, an improvisational music and dance act by 2, and a stunning performance by the Georgios Tsolis Trio, who captivated the audience with modern jazz.
The OUTTA CLIMATE FESTIVAL is an initiative led by CIVINET Greece-Cyprus, with artistic contributions from the Jazz Solidarity Network, and funded by the Greek Ministry of Environment’s Green Fund. By using a variety of artistic expressions, the festival delivered a powerful message about the climate crisis and road safety. The event also marked a commitment to bring these efforts to other cities, mountains, and islands across Greece and Europe that share these values.
This festival united art, youth, and community, inspiring action toward safer and more sustainable cities.
