E-car sharing in MEISTER project city Málaga

The new MEISTER project video was launched by the Malaga pilot team to explain the achievements and objectives of the MEISTER e-car sharing service in the municipal fleet.

The video shows the benefits of this type of shared service, optimizing the use of the municipal fleet and contributing to more efficient and sustainable mobility. It also includes the experience of a current user of the service, highlighting the training received with a user manual, the use of a friendly application to reserve the service, and the advantages of substituting fossil fuel cars for electric vehicles that use clean energy.

Málaga is testing the so called "E-Carsharing in Municipal Fleet", which strengthens the e-mobility aspects in the smart city context and the city's Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP), with special focus on collaborative models with suitable shared electric vehicles (EVs). So far, 38 employees of the Malaga City Council are participating. They can book (by MEISTER app) and use 4 municipal Mitsubishi i-miev out of working hours for private purposes. It is estimated that more than 78’3 gCO2/km are saved each time one of these EVs is used instead of a private car using fossil fuels.
