Summary
The port area is currently not easily accessible by bike. Therefore, sustainable solutions for cycling commuters will be developed to overcome land and water barriers, improve cycling conditions and encourage commuters to travel to work via bike.
Antwerp wants to further spread its bike sharing system. High-quality signage for cyclists will be provided along the most important cycle routes. The city wants to test cycle friendly traffic lights and/or junctions on the selected routes to improve traffic flows for cyclists. Mobile bicycle parking facilities will temporarily increase bicycle parking capacity, e.g. during events.
