Mobility experts, organisations, businesses and local and national governmental representatives are warmly invited to attend the second All-Ukrainian Urban Mobility Forum, also known as the Lviv Urban Mobility Forum 2024. It will take place in Lviv, Ukraine from 16-18 September, and will focus on the development of urban mobility in Ukraine. The event will be held in Ukrainian.

This year’s forum will be held as part of the European Mobility Week, which Lviv has celebrated for the past thirteen years. The forum will focus on the resilience of urban mobility and transportation systems in the context of martial law, energy risks, and financial uncertainty. Key issues will include transportation accessibility, traffic safety, the development of public transport, cycling infrastructure, and micromobility.

The forum will address the current challenges faced by Ukrainian cities, the improvement of legislative frameworks, and their alignment with EU regulations. Special attention will be given to collaboration with international partners such as the CIVITAS Initiative and POLIS, which support Lviv's development as a hub for learning and knowledge exchange for Ukrainian cities.

Topics of focus:

  • Safety: Experience with traffic cameras; autonomous power for traffic lights; measures that do not require energy; and autonomous city traffic management systems.
  • Accessibility: Accessibility and barrier-free transportation; users data inventory.
  • Integrated Development: Smart growth and city downsizing; zoning and multifunctional spaces.
  • Urban Mobility and Water: River transport and infrastructure intersections.
  • Cycling Infrastructure: Development of cycling networks and integration with other modes of transport.
  • Social Initiatives: Concepts of free public transport in cities and the reorganisation of fare systems in de-occupied cities.

The forum will also feature presentations by the CIVITAS Initiative, an official signature ceremony, experience sharing, and the establishment of new partnerships. The forum will conclude with the signing of a resolution that will set the future course for urban mobility development in Ukraine.

Event organisers would like to emphasize that the event will take place in a fully protected area, so security is guaranteed.

Project Partners: Lviv City Council, Department of Urban Mobility and Street Infrastructure, City Institute, Civinet Ukraine (Civitas), Center for Community Development and Cooperation.
