EIT Bari Summer School 2024

Are you passionate about promoting sustainable urban mobility? Do you seek innovative solutions to reduce high-car dependence in your region? Ghent University (member of CIVITAS Educational Network), the Polytechnic University of Bari, and EIT Urban Mobility Master School invite you to the EIT Urban Mobility Bari Summer School 2024, which will take place in Bari (Italy) from August 29 to September 5, 2024.

Summer school contents and benefits

The EIT Urban Mobility Bari Summer School 2024 will be an immersive experience that is designed to tackle the pressing challenges of urban mobility in car-dependent regions. The benefits of participating in the Summer School are numerous:

  • Expert insights and interactive learning: Learn from experts and engage in panel discussions and workshops focused on reducing car-dependence in your region; 
  • Collaborative environment: Team up with students and professionals on real-world cases to find innovative and sustainable solutions, including intermodal mobility, transport planning and active travel, to urban mobility challenges;
  • Cultural experience: Immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of Bari and the surrounding areas in the Region of Puglia, through field visits and excursions to Polignano a Mare and Castel del Monte; and 
  • Educational opportunities: Gain insight into the masters programmes that are offered by the Master School of EIT Urban Mobility, which are designed to help students build careers as mobility experts. 
Who should apply?

The Summer School is designed for undergraduate students and transport professionals who are passionate about sustainable and innovative urban mobility. Participants from diverse backgrounds, including engineering, computer science, geography, urban planning, and transport policy, who want to explore opportunities for further training and research opportunities in urban mobility, transport planning, and data science through EIT Urban Mobility are welcome. The programme will feature two tailor-made tracks: one for undergraduate students and one for professionals. Participants will experience personalised learning and peer-to-peer exchanges, culminating in presentations to a jury, who will provide feedback, advice, and resources for further career development. 

How to apply?

To benefit from the early bird fee (€700), apply using this form by July 20, 2024!

The fee includes accommodation in a shared (double occupancy) room for eight nights, all weekday breakfasts and lunches, selected dinners, and social activities (including a bike tour of Bari, an Italian food night, and excursions to Castel del Monte, Parco Nazionale Alta Murgia, and Polignano a Mare).

The regular deadline to apply using the form for the Summer Course is 1 August 2024. For those applying after 20 July, the fee increases to €800. Special rates are available for those not needing accommodation and for participants from emerging economies.
