Designing Safer Spaces: Best practices from CIVITAS Cities

Cities are an important source of invaluable knowledge and expertise for achieving sustainable, accessible, efficient, and safe urban spaces. This public webinar is an opportunity for cities across Europe to come together and hear directly from six CIVITAS cities – Bologna, Cugir, Reykjavík , Trikala, Warsaw, and Westminster (London) – about their experiences when it comes to facing and addressing the topic of safety. Participants will learn about new solutions designed to make construction sites safer and more attractive, different ways to improve areas around primary schools, how to design and implement school squares, and much more.
These six cities are each further representing four CIVITAS projects: AMIGOS, REALLOCATE, JUST STREETS, and ELABORATOR, which primarily focus on reimagining and redesigning streets to prioritise active mobility and safe and inclusive accessibility.
The webinar will include presentations from each of the cities, and will provide ample time for Q&A from the audience.
