Consultation of Citizens on Traffic Issues and Mobility

On 24th of October 2017, the Network for Sustainable Urban Mobility CIVINET Slovenia-Croatia-SEE, together with ODRAZ organized a panel discussion "Consultation of Citizens on Traffic Issues and Mobility". Forty participants - representatives of local government, civil sector, public institutions, business sector and the media participated at the gathering. Members of CIVINET Slovenia-Croatia-SEE presented their experiences and results related to the topic.
Vlado Babić from the City of Ljubljana, presented the Challenges of Public Involvement in the Development of Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMP) in Slovenia.
Goran Lampelj, from the Cyclists' Union, presented the results of the project "Dialog on mobility in Zagreb". The conclusion of the project is that continuous efforts should be made to develop and strengthen the dialogue between city administration and local self-government with the aim of making this dialogue a habitual practice. It is necessary to animate and motivate all groups of participants, identify and promote examples of good practice, introduce and implement communication channels, and encourage greater interest of local media for such meetings.
After the project results, Lidija Pavić-Rogošić presented the experience of the CIMULACT project.The participants actively participated in the discussion after the presentation, and most talked about examples of good practice and results of the project itself.
* The panel discussion was organized within the project "Dialog on mobility in Zagreb " and with the support of the City of Zagreb and the Association of Cities in the Republic of Croatia.

As part of the event, the results of the "Mobility Dialogue in Zagreb" project were presented and a new ODRAZ short film "Dialogue to Better Mobility in City Areas" was presented, which illustrates the importance of communication between citizens and city administration.
