CIVITAS ELAN Training Workshop on Participatory Intermodal Infrastructure Planning

On 15 January 2009, the City of Brno hosted a training workshop on Participatory Intermodal Infrastructure Planning.The workshop was integrated into one of the ELAN common measures which has amongst others the objective of creating a platform for discussion and exchange of the knowledge and experience in the field of public transport and building integrated public transport systems and systems of multimodal interchanges in the cities through cooperation between urban planning and transport planning.The workshop comprised presentations from all ELAN cities (Ljubljana, Gent, Zagreb, Brno and Porto) outlining the various approaches in planning and building of multimodal interchanges, with different roles of particular means of transportation. The introductory presentation was by a distinguished international expert from the field.The workshop aimed at discussing the different ways of multimodal interchange and finding the best practices.
