Logroño (Spain)

Logroño, the capital of Spain's La Rioja region, is actively pursuing sustainable mobility initiatives to enhance urban transport and reduce environmental impact. In February 2025, the city unveiled "Logroño 2050," a strategic plan aiming to transform urban mobility and green spaces over the next two decades.

Key initiatives include the creation of a 27 km green ring around the city, development of 8 km of pedestrian and cycling lanes, and making a 2 km stretch of the Ebro River navigable. To further promote sustainable transport, Logroño has integrated citizen engagement platforms like WeSolve, encouraging public participation in designing urban spaces that foster active mobility. Additionally, the city has joined the Open & Agile Smart Cities network, emphasizing its commitment to innovative and digital solutions for climate change challenges.
