Kladno (Czechia)

Kladno is a city of over 68 thousand inhabitants, located in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It is the largest city in the region. The city name derives from the word "log" - an indicator of the city's rich industrial history.

Uncompetitive public transport for commuting to nearby Prague contributes to strong individual car traffic in Kladno. The city aspires to change that by building a city of short distances. The focus is currently on replacing the large number of internal combustion engine vehicles in the city fleet with electric vehicles using green energy from emission-free sources.
