Helsingborg (Sweden)

Helsingborg, a coastal city in southern Sweden, has implemented various initiatives to promote eco-friendly transportation options. In 2019, extensive renovations of roads and bus stops were completed to accommodate an express bus system powered entirely by green electricity.

Additionally, all other buses in Helsingborg operate on locally produced biogas derived from food waste. Helsingborg also collaborates with startups like Nudgd to encourage active transportation modes such as cycling, walking, and skating. The Nudgd Smart Nudges Mobility Platform utilizes behavioral science to provide personalized digital prompts, aiding citizens in transitioning from car use to more sustainable travel methods.

Helsingborg's mobility strategy is detailed in its Climate and Energy Plan 2025-2030, which outlines goals and actions to achieve climate neutrality by 2030.
