Modernised Traffic Information in Aalborg

CIVITAS Initiative

The City of Aalborg and the Danish Road Directorate have formed a partnership concerning online traffic information in Northern Jutland. In the future more municipalities in the region will hopefully join in order to provide more accurate and updated traffic information to the road users in the region. The site was running the 15 May 2009.

The purpose of www.trafikken.dk/nordjylland, is to give an overview of the traffic conditions in Northern Jutland base don the information which are currently available on the internet.As part of ARCHIMEDES, this website will be under continously development. As of autumn 2009 you will be able to create your own personalised front page, which informations important for your own commuting. For example you will be able to point out favourite addresses which automatically will be integrated in your search for the smartest way of travelling, by the use of the cycle route planner or the public transport travel planner.A special place on the site is dedicated to travel to and from Aalborg University. The univeristy and the City of Aalborg are co-operating on mapping the travel patterns of students and employees. As of 1 June, more than 2500 people have replied on an online questionnaire.At MitNT the Regional Public Transport Authority of Northern Jutland (NT) now gives you the opportunity to create your own personalised site. The modernisation of the homepage is part of a measure in ARCHIMEDES.
