Low-Clearance Rapid Transit

Low-Clearance Rapid Transit (LCRT) is a concept for radically improved cost-efficiency of high quality urban rail transport, made possible by a mix of technology and traffic management.

The core idea of LCRT is a rapid tram line completely separated from car traffic (no level crossings except for pedestrians), but mainly at-grade with extraordinary short and shallow underpasses instead of a continuously elevated or underground line.
