The European Mobility Show
The European Mobility Show was held in Paris in June 2006. On the stand of the partner Tissèo SMTC, the CIVITAS MOBILIS consortium presented their project to a wide public of public transport actors. A highlight was the meeting between Mr. Jean-Luc Moudenc, Mayor of Toulouse and President of Tissèo-SMTC and Mr. Jacques Barrot, Vice-President of the European Commission in charge of transport.
A major topic of their discussion was linked to their shared ideas on urban sustainable mobility issues. In line with the objectives of the CIVITAS Initiative, they are of the opinion that urban mobility, as it is touching the daily practices of 80% of the European population, should be treated in the wider framework of European transport policies.
