A forthcoming series of webinars from CIVITAS PORTIS will look at how to achieve mobility behaviour change. The first of these will take place on 30 April.

During the period 2010 to 2018, commuting by car in Antwerp (Belgium) decreased by 10% and cycling trips increased by 12% over the same timeframe, demonstrating how a shift in mobility behaviour can be achieved through sustained effort and a well-designed package of initiatives.

Antwerp is one of the five project cities in CIVITAS PORTIS, alongside Aberdeen (UK), Constanta (Romania), Klaipeda (Lithuania) and Trieste (Italy), all of whom are seeking to foster a shift to sustainable mobility through a combination of behavioural change campaigns, new digital services and physical infrastructure improvements.

Three upcoming webinars will share their experiences of and lessons learnt in doing so. The first of these, entitled 'The Human Dimension', will explore the awareness raising, campaign and incentive-based approaches that have been developed by Antwerp and Aberdeen since 2017. These include the Smart Ways to Antwerp commuter campaign that has achieved a 20% decrease in car use amongst participating companies.

This will take place on Thursday 30 April, 11:00 - 11:45 CEST. Register here now.

Further information and dates for the second and third webinars will be available soon; they will explore 'The Digital Dimension' and 'The Physical Dimension' respectively.

In the meantime, visit the CIVITAS PORTIS webpage to find out more about the project.
