Malmö LBC wins award for security, quality and environment

The city of Malmö and Malmö Lorry Central, LBC, cooperates in the CIVITAS SMILE project, focusing on the creation of a better traffic environment in Malmö, Sweden. Within the CIVITAS SMILE project, Malmö LBC will educate all their drivers in heavy eco driving. So far they have educated 70 of their drivers and the results have been very good. We have managed to decrease our fuel consumption with 17 percent per vehicle through our eco driving campaign, says Peter Willborg head of environment and quality at Malmö LBC.In April 2006 one of Swedens biggest insurance companies Trygg-Hansa handed out the first award ever on “Traffic safety Lorry Central award”. The award was given to Malmö LBC since they achieved the highest possible ranking in Trygg-Hansas security survey.“This award is the evidence that our work has given results. We have managed to decrease our freight- and traffic damages radically. We’re very proud of our work and we will continue our strive towards a more secure and clean traffic environment”,says Peter Willborg head of environment and quality at Malmö LBC.
