The final event of the three CIVITAS Living Lab projects kicks off tomorrow with a live session, 14:30 – 16:30 CEST!

Over the past four years, the three CIVITAS Living Lab projects – CIVITAS DESTINATIONS, CIVITAS ECCENTRIC and CIVITAS PORTIS – have been testing and demonstrating innovative mobility solutions.

As the projects draw to a close, join their final conference online from 6-20 October 2020 to discover their exciting results. The event will showcase 175 sustainable urban mobility measures implemented in 16 European cities, with a focus on:

  • European port cities (CIVITAS PORTIS);
  • Touristic cities looking to develop sustainable mobility solutions for tourists and residents alike (CIVITAS DESTINATIONS); and,
  • European cities fostering sustainable mobility in peripheral areas, as well as testing innovative urban freight and logistics solutions (CIVITAS ECCENTRIC).

The first online session, which takes place on 6 October, 14.30 – 16:30 CEST, will be opened by Herald Ruijters, Director, DG MOVE, and Octavia Stepan, Project Officer, INEA.

After this, the three project coordinators will introduce their projects in a nutshell and discuss key achievements and lessons learnt. In doing so, they’ll pay particular attention to the cities themselves.

To enrich the sessions, a collection of material from the three projects is being compiled each week that links to that session's theme. Go here to find more materials – such as multimedia, publications, and leaflets - that shed further light on the projects' 16 Living Lab locations.

The next two sessions, which take place on 13 and 20 October between 14:30 and 16:30 CEST, look at the results of the measures and how they can be scaled up in the future.

Register now for the three live sessions– the same link is used to access all of them - and read the programme here or below.
