CIVITAS in kindergarten
Odense has launched a new campaign in the kindergartens. They have been offered to receive a bicycle trailer and 16 kindergartens will now receive a trailer. The purpose is to make the parents aware of this way of transport. For one week they can try the trailer and find out whether this is an option in their family. The campaign started in May and will end in December 2007.
Odense has launched a new campaign in the kindergartens. All have been offered to receive a bicycle trailer and 16 kindergartens will now receive a trailer. The purpose is to make the parents aware of this way of transport. For one week they can try the trailer and find out whether this is an option in their family. The campaign starts in May and will end in December. Every day parents take their children to school or kindergarten by car. They find this solution easy and safe. But it is not a very healthy way of transporting children. It is also a strain on the environment. Therefore Odense offers parents in kindergartens to try a bicycle trailer for one week. The kindergartens have signed up for the campaign and they will house a trailer in 2007 for the parents to loan. We will provide each kindergarten with a poster, flyers about the campaign and also a schedule where the parents can book the trailer for one week at the time.The purpose of the campaign is to show that there are alternatives to the car. A bicycle trailer is an alternative which is environmentally good but also healthy. We also believe that the children are more likely to keep up cycling when they get older if they have been used to this kind of transport from childhood.
