Mobility Measure

Accessibility for disabled and visually/hearing impaired

Limassol will become a more attractive and safer destination for individuals with disabilities due to the upgraded infrastructure allowing individuals with disabilities enjoy their vacations with leisure.

Implementing sustainable mobility

An integrated mobility solution will be included with blind and deaf people systems installation at traffic light crossings, nearby bus stops served by buses accessible to people with disabilities and points of access to the beach for them.

How did the measure progress?

Procurement documents were published in September 2017 for purchasing and installing equipment on accessible beaches for people with disabilities. Tenders for this work were received in December 2017.

LIMA signed the contracts with the winning contractor in February 2018, and the implementation of the project will be completed at the end of May 2018.

Due to the savings made during the procurement process, the possibility has now arisen to purchase and install more equipment for accessible to make more beaches accessible to people with disabilities.
