CIVITAS thematic course

This e-course provides information about recent developments in urban Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and traffic management. In doing so, the e-course is intended to provide support to professionals in preparation and implementation of traffic management policies and prepare an initial selection of measure types suitable for their situation. ITS and traffic management applications help cities to achieve policy goals with regard to accessibility, liveability and safety. The concept of sustainable modes of transport is receiving increasing attention, as cities explore innovative ways to decrease motorized traffic and carbon emissions. Bike sharing is one of these ways, encouraging a less car-dependent lifestyle. It could even kick start a cycling culture in your city!
