This website contains a large library of e-learning resources about all aspects of sustainable mobility. Below you can filter this collection of past eCourses, recorded webinars, presentations held at webinars, training material, etc. By selecting multiple criteria you will narrow down the search results. If you leave a filter empty, it is the same as if you selected all options in a given field.
eCourse
This course will provide an insight into the basics of customer experiences and how this can be used as a tool to improve the quality of public transport interchanges. It discusses why customer behaviour should be used much more in guidance for interchange design, management and services.

There are over 500 urban vehicle access regulations (UVARs) in Europe, controlling entry of vehicles to an area of a town or city. They are implemented to improve the quality of life in towns and cities. Often ‘soft measures’ to improve the situation can only go so far, and UVARs are needed in combination with the soft measures.

“Gamification is the process of taking something that already exists - a website, an enterprise application, an online community - and integrating game mechanics into it to motivate participation, engagement, and loyalty. Gamification takes the data-driven techniques that game designers use to engage players, and applies them to non-game experiences to motivate actions that add value to your business.” Gamification is used in more and more in the transport sector to influence choice behaviour.

Buses are the backbone of many European public transport systems and an important part of the municipality public transport fleet in the majority of EU Member States. This course provides municipalities, local decision makers and public transport operators with an overview of available bus technologies and guides them in the initial strategic choice of a clean(er) and more efficient energy bus concept.
E-course was developed in cooperation with TNO.
eCourse
This e-course provides information about recent developments in urban Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and traffic management. In doing so, the e-course is intended to provide support to professionals in preparation and implementation of traffic management policies and prepare an initial selection of measure types suitable for their situation. ITS and traffic management applications help cities to achieve policy goals with regard to accessibility, liveability and safety. Accelerated by technology and ICT developments, the possibilities of using ITS and traffic management in urban environments have increased substantially in the past decade.
Webinar
The Bus system is a key element of every public transport network all over the world. By choosing a cleaner bus option local decision makers can contribute to the decarbonisation of the urban transport and improvement of the air quality in their cities. In order to reduce emissions from buses it is possible to act on the improvement of the vehicle technology, act on powertrain or consider alternative fuels to be used to propel the vehicle. The webinar presented and discussed the new CIVITAS Policy Note “Smart choices for cities - Clean buses for your city” as well as the report “Clean Buses - Experiences with Fuel and Technology Options” released by the European project Clean Fleets. Apart for presenting technology and fuel options, the webinar highlighted some practical city experiences in running and operating clean buses: together with the cities participating in the Clean Fleets project, also the CIVITAS demonstrative city Gdynia presented its experience in the trolleybus system. The webinar addressed in particular the following questions: (1) Why do municipalities need to consider cleaner options for buses? (2) What are the options available and which energy source/technology should be chosen? (3) What are the costs, emissions and other advantages/disadvantages of the different options? (4) Short term, medium term and long-term investment decisions
