Air pollution and traffic congestion generated by cars and other motorised vehicles is a major concern for our cities and the citizens who live in them. But how do we address some of these concerns, and what can we do to re-create our cities?

These and many more questions will be discussed in two upcoming webinars from the METAMORPHOSIS project.

Dr. Alan Wong from the University of Southampton, Carolyn Ireland from Southampton City Council and Jenny Babey from Sustrans will provide insights into why we need more school streets and street openings for people, how to achieve these, and what this means for changing our cities so they are oriented more towards people than cars.

Moreover, they will present scientific evidence and theoretical underpinnings drawing on the experiences of Southampton and six other European cities.

Furthermore, the webinars will outline some of the tools used to consult a range of stakeholders, which can include children and young people, local residents and other community groups. The webinars will provide practical guidance on how to plan, consult and implement such street trials, as well as encourage local residents to engage and take ideas forward.

The webinars are taking place on Wednesday 11 December, 15:00 - 16:50 CET (14:00 - 15:50 GMT) and includes Q&A sessions.

Everyone is invited to join the webinar! To do so, register here www.metamorphosis-project.eu/webinars.
