Utrecht , MIMOSA

Have you ever tried car sharing?  In Utrecht, it's possible to car-share through agencies like Connect Car, GreenWheels, Wheels4all, Snappcar and Studentcar.

These agencies provide more than 200 shared cars all over the city. Customers have all the advantages of driving a car whenever they want without the cost and time hassles of maintaining it and finding a parking spot. Membership of a car sharing agency is an attractive choice for those who drive less than 10,000 km a year. Not only does car sharing contribute to less car usage and increased awareness of sustainable mobility it also saves on public space by decreasing the amount of private cars on the road. With support from CIVITAS MIMOSA, the City of Utrecht and various car sharing agencies have launched a communications campaign to promote the car sharing scheme and how to use it best. People will be actively encouraged to visit the website www.Utrechtdeelt.nl (translates into "Utrecht shares") with information about the cars they can share in Utrecht and possibilities to share their own cars. What makes this campaign special, is its collaborative nature. It involves the City of Utrecht, the advertising agency Emotion and various car sharing agencies. Additionally, bottom-up support will come from Utrecht citizens, through the sustainable consumer platform Nudge. Are you interested in car sharing or do you want to know more about the campaign? Get in touch with marijn.kik@utrecht.nl or visit a Utrecht "Nudger" on www.nudge.nl
