A CIVITAS ELAN training workshop on cycling took place in Brno (Czech Republic), on 17 June 2010.

The workshop focused on cycling issues in the CIVITAS ELAN cities of Brno, Gent, Ljubljana, Porto and Zagreb. The presentations during the workshop addressed the cycling measures implemented within the CIVITAS ELAN project, the cycling policy and possibilities to enhance the support of cycling, e.g. the new general cycling plan of the City of Brno, cycling policy in the Czech Republic and the cities of Ljubljana and Gent, as well as the cycling network in Porto. Furthermore, the EU-funded PRESTO project and its results in the City of Zagreb were presented. The workshop programme also included a test ride of electric bikes. In the City of Brno some of the city districts offices are using electric bikes as a sustainable mode of transport.
