Zagreb , ELAN

April continued to be fairly busy for CIVITAS ELAN team in Zagreb. Two round tables on carpooling, freight delivery and priority for PT were held in ZgForum premises. Main participants of these events were traffic experts, but the interested citizens and the media also had a chance to hear few interesting things.

Round table on carpooling and freight delivery in Zagreb gathered experts from Zagreb and from few other cities and this was also a good opportunity to exchange relevant expert opinion on carpooling options and on freight delivery. Conclusion drawn was that carpooling is a system that should be encouraged even more in Zagreb  – number of carpooling web platforms is increasing and carpooling is a hot topic at the time in Croatia. Round table on priority for PT also gathered experts who shed a light on a current situation in Zagreb and predisposition for the system to be implemented in Zagreb. All experts present were unanimous that the system that would provide the priority for PT in Zagreb would essential in decreasing the level of traffic congestion. Identified problems were huge expenses that would accompany installment of such system, as well as the lack of experience and knowledge of key stakeholders. Expert round tables – to be continued in May! For more information go to: civitaszagreb.hr.
