I have more than 15 years of experience in transport planning and traffic engineering.
I collaborated in the drafting of several transport and mobility plans at international, national and local level. I gained expertise in the areas of road safety and traffic, cycle and pedestrian mobility, sustainable mobility and parking, as well as in the evaluation and impact assessment of transport measures and projects. In his professional experience he also dealt with the study of traffic impact of new settlements and urban development projects, with the support of microsimulation dynamic modelling.
Since 2008, I've been involved in the EU-funded CIVITAS initiative for sustainable urban mobility in European cities. I participated to the CIVITAS Pointer support action, dealing with the monitoring, cross-site evaluation and policy recommendations of the third CIVITAS programme (CIVITAS PLUS, 2008-2012), which involved 25 European cities. More recently, I'm participating to the CIVITAS WIKI support action (CIVITAS Plus II, 2012-2016), whose main objective is fostering knowledge transfer, dissemination of best practices and debate about innovative measures for sustainable urban mobility based on the CIVITAS experience.
I'm currenthly the moderator of the CIVITAS Integrated Planning Thematic Group.
